Mathieu Hryniuk LLP, Barristers & Solicitors— Avocats et Notaires

 

Larry P. Hryniuk, Q.C.

Larry was born in Westlock, Alberta and later graduated from Fairview High School at Fairview, Alberta. Larry obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1975 and was admitted to the Bar in 1976. He commenced and continues to practice law in Peace River. Since 1977, he has been traveling to High Level on a weekly basis. Larry has been involved in numerous service clubs and sports clubs such as the Kinsmen Club, Stampeders Hockey Club, Stampeders Baseball Club, Peace River Recreational Society, High Level Sporting Association and other positions in both of the communities of Peace River and High Level, and for the Province of Alberta, the Alberta Real Estate Licensing Committee.

 

In 1992, Larry was named a Queen's Counsel by the Government of the Province of Alberta. Personally, Larry likes hunting, sporting activities on T.V., politics and the outdoors.

 

Dave R. Shynkar, Q.C.

 

Dave was born in Toronto, but has lived in Alberta since 1964. He was married to Michelle in 1979 and has two children. He obtained an honours degree in English Literature in 1983 and a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1986.

 

Dave has been with the firm since 1986, and his practice has become primarily civil litigation and estates.

 

Dave and his family have been active in a wide variety of community recreational activities and local organizations over the years. Currently, he is a board member of the Legal Aid Appeals Committee.

 

In 2000, Dave was named a Queen's Counsel by the Government of the Province of Alberta.

 

 

Robin D. Erickson

Robin was born and raised in Hythe, Alberta. He attended the Grande Prairie Regional College in 1968 and graduated from the University of Alberta in 1972 with a Bachelor of Commerce (with distinction). He owned and operated a farm and feedlot for 14 years at Hythe, Alberta prior to obtaining a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1989 from the University of Alberta.

Robin's community service includes former member of the Kinsmen Club, former Elks member, former member of the Board of Trade, past Secretary of the Peace River Rotary Club (2 times), committee chairman Peace River Rotary Club, past Chairman of Council at Peace River Baptist Church, Chair Peace River Library Fund Raising Committee, Chief Financial Officer and Secretary for the Peace River Progressive Conservative Association, Elder at Peace River Baptist Church, and successfully completed the Canadian Securities course in 1987 while in Law School.

Personally, Robin enjoys travelling and spending time with his wife, 3 children and one grandchild.

Robin practices primarily in the fields of real estate, corporate, commercial and estate planning.

 

 

Robert B. Marceau

Robert B. Marceau was born and raised in Peace River. He completed his undergraduate and law school degrees at the University of Alberta. Robert articled to Mathieu Hryniuk LLP in 1998/1999 and joined the firm as a partner in 2001.

 

Robert primarily practices in Criminal Law and is the standing Agent for the Attorney General of Canada. He is a member of the Criminal Trial Lawyer’s Association and has tried many cases in Provincial Court and the Court of Queen’s Bench throughout Northern Alberta. Robert volunteers with the Peace River Ski Club and is actively involved in various community activities.

 

Robert and his wife Raelene are the proud parents of two children. Personally, Robert enjoys spending time with his family, downhill skiing, water skiing and playing hockey.

 

 

Colin A. Gagnon

 

Colin A. Gagnon was born and raised in Peace River. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Psychology at the University of Alberta. In 2003, Colin earned his Bachelor of Laws degree from the Université de Moncton and joined the firm as an articling student. In 2006, Colin became a partner of the firm.

 

Colin practices in the area of Real Estate, Corporate, Commercial and Estate. Colin services a number of areas including High Prairie, McLennan, Falher and Peace River.

 

Colin is involved in numerous organizations, especially in the Francophone community as director in the committee for the St. Isidore Carnival, a director in the Association des Juristes d’Expression Français and former treasurer of the Regional ACFA, CREF and CKRP.

 

Colin is married and has two children. He enjoys snowboarding, playing cards and golf.

 

 

Boyd E. Langford

Boyd, originally from Saskatoon, enjoyed a business career in the transportation industry spanning more than 20 years prior to articling with the firm in 2004, and he was offered a partnership upon admission to the bar in 2005. Boyd attended the University of Saskatchewan for both his B.A. and LL.B. degrees. He and his family relocated to Rainbow Lake in 2001, and Boyd, his wife Tanys, and their youngest daughter Sydney are still there. Boyd practices in the areas of real estate, corporate, commercial and criminal law, primarily in High Level, LaCrete and Rainbow Lake. Boyd has been a Councillor for the Town of Rainbow Lake since 2002 and is currently the Deputy Mayor. In addition to many volunteer activities for various community groups, Boyd also sits on the Boards of the Regional Economic Development Initiative for Northwest Alberta, Mackenzie Municipal Services Agency, Rainbow Lake Victim Services, Rainbow Lake Community Advisory Committee and the High Level Forests Public Advisory Group.
 

 

Dallas C. Gelineau

Dallas C. Gelineau has lived all over Alberta, British Columbia, the North West Territories and Saskatchewan. He worked as a truck driver for many years before deciding to go back to school. Dallas attended GPRC for 3 years and graduated from University of Saskatchewan with his LLB in 2009. A proud member of the Métis Nation of Alberta, he is married with 3 kids. His focus is on criminal, civil and family law matters.

 

Some members of the firm are bilingual.
